When Chip Conley joined the Airbnb team at the age of 52, he found himself to be the oldest person in the room at the burgeoning tech start-up. His peers called him the “modern elder” and he referred to himself as a “mentern” - a moniker for both a “mentor” and “intern.”

Since then, he’s gone on to found the world’s first midlife wisdom school, Modern Elder Academy, and write multiple books on the topic of leaning into wisdom, curiosity and the concept of lifelong (or “long life” as Chip likes to say) learning.
