The TARDIS lands the Doctor, Leela, and K-9 aboard a Minyan spaceship, one of only two surviving vessels from a world destroyed 100,000 years ago. The crew is on a mission to locate the lost gene banks of their people, which were placed on a second ship, the P7E, now orbiting a young planet. They eventually discover the gene banks within a cave system at the heart of the newly-formed world. However, the P7E's computer has its own agenda and is far from welcoming to its new visitors.
