"Lesser Spotted Eagle nest camera in Estonia.

The Lesser Spotted Eagle nest camera is situated near military training ground. Therefore military training noise is possible to hear quite often. As usual, nest sites of that species are situated in common economic forest and surrounded with protection zone (species protection site). Close by is a village with railway. The purpose of this camera is to detect the reaction of breeding eagles to the noise disturbance heard. We invite volunteers to participate in virtual Lesser Spotted Eagle observations and record them in the appropriate forum (link above). The forum has instructions on how to become a member of the forum and how to post your observations there. This is also possible with pictures or videos proving the event. At the end of the season, we summarise observations and analyse if and to what extent the particular Lesser Spotted Eagle pair is affected by noise disturbances in the breeding area. Expenses of this webcam are covered by Centre for Defence Investments of Estonian Republic.

There in the same nest was one chick fledged in 2024, but before long time the nest was not occupied.
Male in nest is currently without of rings. Female has transmitter (Milda on migration map), hatched in western Latvia (2016). But this nest can also be inhabited by other individuals.
Camera was installed in 14th of April, but needed remote justification and testing.

15.04 - male refreshes nest in morning
16.04 - two Lesser Spotted Eagles (LSE) in nest, female seems to be young one. Both not ringed.
18.04 - Milda, the female from last year arrives and takes over the nest

Väike-konnakotka pesakaamera

Väike-konnakotka pesakaamera asub kaitseväe harjutusvälja lähedal ning seetõttu on seal sageli kuulda harjutustega seotud müra. Väike-konnakotka pesitsuskohad jäävad sageli majandusmetsa, nii ka siin. Pesa ümber on küll kaitsetsoon, aga kaugemal käib tavapärane majandustegevus. Lisaks asub lähedal ka küla koos raudteega. Selle kaamera eesmärk on tuvastada, kas ja kuidas reageerivad väike-konnakotkad harjutusväljalt kostuvale mürahäiringule. Kutsume vabatahtlikke üles osalema väike-konnakotka virtuaalvaatlustel ja nende salvestamisel vastavas foorumis. Foorumis on juhised liitumise kohta ning selgitused, kuidas oma vaatlusi postitada. Postitusele on võimalik lisada sündmust tõendavad fotod või videod. Hooaja lõpus teeme vaatlustest kokkuvõtte ja analüüsime, kas ja kuivõrd mõjutavad mürahäiringud väike-konnakotkast pesitsuspiirkonnas. Väike-konnakotka pesakaamera paigaldamise ja hoolduse eest tasub Riigi Kaitseinvesteeringute Keskus.

Sellest pesast lennuvõimestus poeg 2024. aastal. Enne seda oli pesa aastaid tühi. Isaslind on ilma rõngasteta, emaslind sai eelmisel aastal saatja ja oli pesapojana rõngastatud Lätis (2016).
Kaamera sai käima 14. aprillil, aga vajas distantsilt seadistust ja testimist.

2025
15.04 - isalind kohendab pesa
16.04 - pesas on kaks konnakotkast, mõlemad rõngasteta. Emalind tundub noorepoolne (osad suleotsad veel heledad).
18.04 - rändelt saabub eelmisel aastal samas pesitsenud emalind (Milda)"
