Ritsurin Garden in Kagawa Prefecture was completed over a century by the successive feudal lords of Takamatsu during the Edo period. When the garden was first built, it was called "Ritsurinso" because the successive feudal lords used it as a place to entertain guests. With Mt. Shiun as a backdrop, this stroll-style garden features six ponds and thirteen artificial hills, and the more than a thousand pine trees and flowers give a sense of the four seasons.
