Gero Onsen Gassho Mura (Gero Onsen Gassho Village) is a village of ten gassho houses that were relocated from Shirakawa-go and other places, recreating the original landscape of Japan. The village is not only a place of buildings, but also a place of ponds and shrines, where visitors can experience the seasonal changes of the original landscape of Japanese satoyama. There are valuable buildings such as the former Oto Family Residence, designated as a National Important Cultural Property, and the former Iwasaki Family Residence, registered as a Tangible Cultural Property. The beautiful nature and satoyama scenery will make you feel nostalgic and heal your heart. The beautiful autumn leaves in fall, the snow-covered Gassho Village in winter, and the beautiful fresh greenery in spring and summer are just some of the seasonal changes that can be seen.
