"Aikido is not only a self-defense technique but also a martial art that teaches the importance of one's mindset and harmony. From basic techniques like body movement (Tai Sabaki), footwork (Ashi Sabaki), and hand techniques (Te Sabaki), you can see how to deflect the opponent's attacks while maintaining harmony and responding effectively. Exploring the charm of Aikido allows you to acquire skills that are beneficial in daily life. It's a martial art where you learn not only to defend yourself physically but also to cultivate a harmonious mindset."

1. In aikido, as it transitions into more of a self-defense context involving even multiple partners, our mindset must adapt. The key is to maintain constant movement and lead our partner or partners mind, avoiding fixed positions.

2. We continuously execute cutting movements using our entire body (tai sabaki), hands (te sabaki), and legs (ashi sabaki), transforming our entire body into a sword. Controlling the distance (maai), blending with the partner, drawing them in, and utilizing their energy to unbalance them are crucial aspects. Exploiting angles and identifying anatomical weak spots, we throw our partner with some kind of intention and energy.

3. The ideal approach involves swiftly moving from close front-range distance to the side, always aiming to be by the partner's side. By matching or cutting angles effectively, we neutralize the partner, capitalizing on their anatomical vulnerabilities. This is also part of kuzushi, that's why our spine should be strong, never bent but at the same time our upper body should be flexible and relaxed, and our lower body strong enough and connected with the upper body. In that way, our body will move swiftly, as a whole, allowing us to blend more easily and pull the energy of the other person through the ground. Our whole body should be electrifying.

4. If one understands aikido principles doesn't go on purpose against somebody but try to avoid what might come, any conflict.
Ultimately, Aikido helps us protect our physical integrity in the safest way possible. One is sensible to the environment and fully aware of what is happening in the moment. So one uses aikido in a way that can manipulate the other's mind, blend with the partner, letting the attack go by and then once you see an opening apply a technique. You don't force the technique when it does not work but change it quickly.
You don't try to apply a particular technique or grab a particular part of the body, but avoid the strike, then blend and use the whole body to apply some pin or throw, even strike, whatever is necessary.
