This time, we installed brick blocks along the edge of the concrete poured in the previous project.
We started by leveling the area where we wanted to place the bricks, then applied hand-mixed concrete.
For small amounts like this, mixing in a small box by hand felt faster and more even. (*Gloves required as it roughs up your hands!)
After lightly smoothing with a trowel, we made mortar using sand and cement and applied it to the joints to secure the bricks firmly. ← This was the most difficult part!
Thinner mortar (with more water) was easier to handle since thick mortar tends to drop off.
We matched the height of the concrete and the bricks for a flush finish.
Used 24 bricks in total.
It turned out to be a satisfying Sunday DIY project (^o^)
