On January 31st, 2000, Alaska Airlines flight 261 crashed into Pacific Ocean. Another pilot who was flying nearby witnessed the crash and reported to the air traffic controller. I am going to talk about this accident based on the NTSB investigation report, as well as the ATC communications.
