This is a review of the Kinugawa Onsen Asaya Hotel (鬼怒川温泉あさやホテル), a symbol of the 1990s bubble period in Japan.

We introduce the shuhokan lobby atrium built at $50 million, the VIP room of Hachibankan where I stayed, the facilities in the hotel, dinner in a private room, and the breakfast buffet.

■ History
1888 - Zenpachi Yagisawa founded Asaya Ryokan in Kinugawa Onsen.
1972 - Built a new Keifukan with 11 floors above ground.
1973 - Built Kanzankan with 2 basement floors and 11 floors above ground.
1977 - Newly built Hachibankan with 2 floors underground and 7 floors above ground.
1990 - Shuhokan (12 floors above ground) was newly built.
2005 - With the support of the Industrial Revitalization Corporation, debt waiver and separation of old and new were implemented. In July, Hachibankan was renewed, Keifukan was dismantled, and Kanzankan was changed to an employee dormitory (later dismantled).
