Materials:
A shallow dish or plate
Whole milk (low-fat milk doesn't work as well due to the lower fat content)
Liquid dish soap
Food colouring
Cotton swabs or small droppers

Instructions:
Pour enough milk into the shallow dish or plate to cover the bottom.
Add a few drops of different colours of food colouring to the milk. You can arrange the drops in various patterns or just randomly distribute them.
Dip a cotton swab or small dropper into liquid dish soap.
Touch the soapy cotton swab or dropper to the surface of the milk near one of the drops of food colouring. Be careful not to stir the milk.
Observe what happens to the colours in the milk.

When you touch the soapy cotton swab or dropper to the surface of the milk, the soap molecules disrupt the surface tension of the milk. This causes the fat molecules in the milk to move away from the soap, creating a swirling motion. As the fat molecules move, they carry the food colouring with them, creating the illusion of magic milk.
