When an underground atomic research facility experiences unexplained power losses and two of their technicians are attacked in the cave system running through the building, UNIT are called in. The Doctor discovers that the caves are harbouring a mysterious and terrible secret. The previous inhabitants of Earth, known as the Silurians, have woken up... and they want their planet back.
