Every year more and more doctors are choosing to take time away from training after completing the Foundation Training Programme. This is now being referred to as the "F3 phenomenon" by the Royal College of Physicians. In this video I’m going to be discussing what an F3 doctor is, why more doctors are choosing to take time out of training and what options are available to F3 doctors. After I recorded this video the Royal College of Physicians and HEE published a paper which discusses in great detail some of the reasons doctors are choosing to take an F3. The paper also discusses the implications this will have on the workforce. A link to this paper can be found below:
