Suno AI generates the music based on this, and through multiple iterations, Johnny E. selects the version where lyrics and sound harmonize best. The process can be time-consuming, as even the most well-written lyrics won't work if the music doesn't match - and vice versa. But "Exposed to the Wind" was a rare exception. From the very first draft, the intentions of the lyricist and the response from Suno AI aligned perfectly. It may well have been the fastest track to complete in their history. Set to a bright and breezy ska rhythm, the song portrays the worldview of a self-effacing protagonist who has mastered the art of getting by. Rather than wallowing in darkness or bitterness, the track paints a picture of someone navigating life lightly, with quick feet and an easy smile. They're not a hero, not a villain - just someone making their way through the world with quiet resilience and unexpected strength. And maybe, just maybe, there are more people like that out there than we think.

アポカスミスの楽曲制作は、まずJohnny E.が歌詞を書き、楽曲の方向性や使用する楽器などを「Suno AI」のStyle Description（プロンプト）に入力し、AIが楽曲を生成するという流れで進む。そこから何度か出力と修正を繰り返し、最終的にJohnny E.がもっとも楽曲と詞がマッチしたものを選び、完成へと至る。 歌詞がどれほど優れていても、曲調がうまく合わなければ作品として成立しない。またその逆も然り。完成までに長い時間を要することもしばしばだ。 しかし、この「Exposed to the Wind」は、作詞者とAI作曲側の意図が最初から完全に一致した、きわめて稀なケースだった。制作時間は、これまでで最短だったかもしれない。 自虐的で控えめな人生観をもつ主人公の処世術が、軽やかなスカ・サウンドに乗って、高らかに歌い上げられる。そこにあるのは、暗さや重さではなく、むしろ軽快で風通しの良い日常の風景。小市民としての立場を引き受けながら、したたかに、そしてどこか楽しげに生きていく姿が描かれている。 こういうふうに、うまく風に身をまかせながら、しぶとく人生を泳いでいく人。実は、世の中にはけっこう多いんじゃないだろうか。
